Dwayne Wade wants radical NBA All-Star Game change

The NBA All-Star Weekend is one of the most important moments in every season. The All-Star Game itself has received some criticism in the recent past, with many changes being suggested to improve it. And Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade has an All-Star change of his own in mind.

The game usually takes place in February, after the trade deadline. The league’s biggest stars participate in it, but have lately been called out for not playing too seriously. Considering that the business end of the NBA season begins after the All-Star break, it’s hard to blame them. But Wade’s idea might help with that.

Dwyane Wade thinks the NBA should do the All Star game at end of year like the NFL Pro Bowl

“I don’t think we should stop and do the All Star game in middle of season no more… I see the pro bowl. The All Star game should be a trip, a vacation”

“I don’t think we should stop and do the All-Star game in the middle of the season no more,” Wade said. “We’re changing all kinds of things, let’s change that too.

“I see the Pro Bowl… I don’t know the schedule yet. But I look at it like the Pro Bowl. The All-Star game should be a trip, a vacation, an experience for the people who [are] making it and the families who are part of it.”

Having the All-Star Game after the season might allow players to play a bit more freely. However, it would prolong the year for many, which they might not be open to. The NBA has been playing around with ideas to improve the product, and Wade’s isn’t necessarily a bad one.
