Liverpool face Sunderland in the first meeting between the two sides in eight years
The Reds enter this fixture in eighth position after losing six of their opening 13 matches. They are remarkably two places below Sunderland at this stage of the season, something which even the most pessimistic Liverpool supporter and the optimistic Sunderland fan couldn’t have predicted at this phase of the campaign.
Liverpool after splashing out a staggering £450m on an already well-oiled machine enter this fixture as the clear favourites to get the job done. However, the Black Cats have proven challenging opponents for a series of the league’s big guns already this season, picking up draws against Aston Villa and Arsenal while even recording a victory against Chelsea at the Stadium of Light.
Regis Le Bris’s side have made the best start of any newly-promoted team since Wigan Athletic 20 years ago, and will be confident of recording another upset. Ahead of what promises to be an intriguing encounter and a must-win match for Liverpool, we take a look at all the key TV details you need to be aware of.

Liverpool vs Sunderland team news
Liverpool are likely to be without right-backs Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley for the home clash against Sunderland this week.
Summer signing Frimpong, who joined from Bayer Leverkusen with great expectations, is out until mid-December with a thigh problem that’s disrupted the early months of his career, he is expected to start training next week but won’t be involved in this one.
Academy graduate Bradley is slightly ahead of him in terms of his recovery having returned to training but is not thought to be ready for a start against the in-form promoted side.
Giovanni Leoni is out for the season with a serious ACL issue, marking a nightmare debut campaign for the highly-rated Italian prospect.
