Liverpool have some top players, but fans cannot see just how good some of them are day-to-day.
The Reds may have struggled at the start of the new season, but that does not mean they are not trying as hard outside of matchdays.
Arne Slot will be doing all he can on the training pitch to get Liverpool back to their best, and the players will be trying to prove to him why they should be in his squad week in, week out.

Captain Virgil van Dijk is also someone who will demand effort every day of the week, with the Dutchman’s opinion certainly one to take note of.
And there is one player in particular who he thinks is the ‘craziest’ in training, with the skipper blown away by how good he is.

Virgil van Dijk names Curtis Jones as the ‘craziest’ player in training
The talent in Liverpool’s squad this year is simply mind blowing, with players having to work even harder to stand out.
This can be a blessing and a curse at the same time for Slot as he has to make tricky decisions each week, with there always going to be someone who is not happy.

But all he can hope is that players stay dedicated and work hard to prove him wrong, with this being exactly what Curtis Jones sounds like he is doing according to his captain.
When asked for the ‘craziest’ player in training by GOALGlobal, with that being in terms of performances rather than personality, Van Dijk did not hesitate when saying Jones’ name, suggesting just how impressed he has been.
“Curtis Jones. He’s very technical. Top player!” the skipper said.

Jones is very much a ‘fringe’ player at the moment where he is deserving of more minutes, but might not be quite at the level to start every game just yet.
But with Alexis Mac Allister struggling a bit for form, he could get his chance very soon, and best believe he will grasp the opportunity with both hands.
Virgil van Dijk also named the most underrated player he knows
Liverpool also have a few stars that, despite being respected for their quality, still slip under the radar more often than not.
Van Dijk believes there is one in particular too who is more underrated than most, with this being his fellow Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch.
The midfielder has really come into his own under Slot and established himself into one of Liverpool’s best players, yet he is probably still not rated as highly as he perhaps should be.
Van Dijk clearly appreciates the work his teammate does in front of him, though, suggesting that he really should get more plaudits than he does.
