Erling Haaland said "why not" when asked whether he has another century of goals in him after joining the Premier League 100 club on Tuesday.

The Manchester City ace hit the milestone with a goal in the nine-goal thriller at Fulham, making him the quickest player in the competition's history to hit three figures. He's been prolific this season and Haaland is clearly confident he has plenty more goals in him.

There has been talk over whether the Norwegian, whose records include the most goals in a single season, could ever overhaul Alan Shearer as the most prolific man in Premier League history. That would require him to spend the bulk of his career with the Manchester outfit.

Haaland's goals have him on course to win a third Golden Boot in four years in England's top flight and they are also ensuring City remain in the title hunt with their defence shipping four goals en route to the three points at Fulham.

The striker said: "Proud moment. 100 club is a huge thing. To do it this quickly is amazing. I'm proud, I'm happy. I've said it many times - a striker for City should score a lot of goals. That's my job, that's what I try to do. And I'm not bad at it! I should have had a hat-trick, I had a few chances. I need to practise."

Haaland twice saw efforts come cannoning off the woodwork at Craven Cottage with City having to hold on as Fulham mounted a late charge. The hosts having an effort cleared off the line to deny them an equaliser, but the frantic night allowed Pep Guardiola's men to close to within two points of Arsenal.

The Gunners have a chance to respond but the City boss insists he's ready for a long fight and knows being behind come the New Year is nothing new and believes his side are in it for the long haul.

He said: "I know what we have to do, I know if we drop points it will be so difficult, we have to put in our mindset that it will be difficult but at the same time the Premier League is so long.

"I promise you I am the oldest manager in the Premier League and have enough experience to make a long, long run to try to fight to win the Premier League. It is so long.

"Premier League is so long, many things will happen. We won six Premier Leagues, four or five when we were December, January or February we were behind."
