Alan Shearer totally agrees with what David Moyes has said about Jack Grealish at Everton

Three important points were secured by Everton on Tuesday evening in their away trip to Bournemouth thanks to a late Jack Grealish goal.

David Moyes’ side produced a much better performance than they did at the weekend to pull themselves up to ninth in the table.

A gritty victory has put Everton back on track, with some really solid performances from Moyes’ depleted side.

Grealish celebrated by kissing the Everton badge on his shirt as he ran off towards those travelling fans.

The Blues are going to need more of this from the 30-year-old loanee over the coming weeks as Iliman Ndiaye nears his exit for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite finding the back of the net to secure the win, Alan Shearer has admitted he actually agrees with Moyes’ recent criticism of Grealish.

After the game, Grealish and Moyes shared their praise for each other, with the loan move from Manchester City working for all parties.

However, Moyes has pushed Grealish to score more frequently having only netted one goal before the game on Tuesday night.

Speaking after the game on The Rest Is Football podcast, Shearer admitted that he does actually agree with Moyes on this.

“Great for Jack, pleased for Jack because, yeah, I listened to David Moyes when he said that and I totally agree with that because of his, he does need to add a little bit more, needs to score some goals,” said Shearer.

“And he’s answered his manager tonight with a winning goal.”

James Tarkowski thinks Grealish is Moyes’ favourite player at Everton and that will only have been strengthened after he secured the points on Tuesday evening.

Grealish has been brought in to add that star quality, with some really big weeks ahead for the club amid their current injury and suspension issues.

With such a tricky run of games ahead, Everton are going to need this to be a jump start for Grealish in front of goal.
