Mo Salah could reunite with 'favourite' teammate as Liverpool transfer bombshell drops

Mo Salah Could Reunite With 'Favourite' Teammate Amid Liverpool Exit Rumours

Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah could reunite with one of his favourite teammates after a major transfer update was delivered.

Salah, 33, produced arguably the best individual season in Premier League history during the 24/25 campaign, scoring 29 goals and assisting a further 18 as Liverpool went on to win the title.

On the back of what was a stellar season, the Egyptian King was ranked fourth in the 2025 Ballon d'Or award, behind the likes of Vitinha, Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembele.

However, Salah's form so far in the 25/26 season has been way below his usual high standards.

In 18 matches across all competitions, Salah has only managed five goals and three assists.

Last weekend, Salah was dropped to the bench as Liverpool beat West Ham United 2-0 at the London Stadium, thanks to goals from Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo.

As a result of his poor form, Salah has now been linked with a move away from Anfield.

According to talkSPORT, Salah remains on the radar of teams in the Saudi Pro League.

Prior to penning a new deal with Liverpool following the 24/25 campaign, Salah was heavily linked with a move to the Middle East.

Now, it has been reported that 'Saudi deal-makers remain committed to recruiting the Egyptian superstar at some point'.

It is believed that Al Hilal are the frontrunners for Salah's signature, with Al Qadsiah also in the running.

If Al Hilal do manage to lure Salah away from Merseyside, the forward could be reunited with one of his favourite teammates.

Speaking last year, Salah revealed that Darwin Nunez was one of his favourite players he has played with at Liverpool.

Via This is Anfield, when asked to name his favourite Liverpool teammate, Salah said: "It was Firmino, now I feel I generally like playing with Nunez. A lot of people don’t like him but I like playing with him. I see [the Q&A host] keeps shaking his head not liking [my answer].

"I like playing with him in general. A player with different skills. Not a lot of people understand his game."

Nunez, 26, left Liverpool for Al Hilal during the summer transfer window in a deal worth a reported fee of €53 million.

Since then, the Uruguayan has registered five goals and two assists in 11 matches across all competitions.
