Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall may have just been Everton’s unsung hero in Tuesday’s win over Bournemouth.
The summer signing showed his quality after being asked by David Moyes to play in a slightly deeper role amid the 62-year-old’s midfield headache.
Dewsbury-Hall has typically played as Everton’s number 10 this season, where he has been able to net himself three goals.
However, Everton are experiencing something of a midfield crisis, with injuries and suspensions depleting the options for the 62-year-old manager.
Tim Iroegbunam will be suspended for Nottingham Forest’s visit at the weekend following his fifth yellow card of the term.
But Dewsbury-Hall has shared just how comfortable he is playing in that role having featured alongside Iroegbunam on Tuesday.

“I said to Tim, I’ve never seen a lad make so many clean tackles on a yellow card in my life. He got a yellow card in the 25th minute and made eight perfect tackles after that,” said Dewsbury-Hall.
“I said, fair play lad. You’ve got some cojones to be able to keep going in when you’re on a yellow, but he reacted unbelievably today.”
After the game on Saturday, Moyes made it clear he was not impressed with Iroegbunam, but he got the perfect response on the south coast.
Playing alongside a technician like Dewsbury-Hall may have also helped the youngster, with the £28m summer signing shining once again for Everton.
