Chelsea have released an emotional statement announcing the death of club legend Marvin Hinton.
Hinton, 85, died on Tuesday as Chelsea said: "It is with tremendous sadness that Chelsea Football Club announces the passing yesterday [Tuesday] of Marvin Hinton. Our thoughts are with Marvin’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
The defender moved from Charlton to Chelsea in 1963 and went on to have 13 years with the Blues making 344 appearances and adding three winners medals to his collection.

He was part of the 1970 FA Cup triumph over Manchester United, starting in the final and the replay on the bench (in an era when there was only one substitute), and was introduced to the action during both games.
He also won the League Cup with the Blues, defeating Leicester in 1965. The following year he was part of Alf Ramsey's provisional 40-man squad for the 1966 World Cup - but failed to make the cut for the final team.
He never made an appearance for England, but was capped at U23 level for the Three Lions.

Hinton wasn't involved in the famous 1971 Cup Winners Cup final against Real Madrid - but he made an impact on the road to the final, netting against Aris Salonika following a 30-yard run.
His time at Chelsea came to an end in 1976, moving to Non-League Barnet before hanging up his boots.
He returned to Cobham in 2023 for a celebration for his 80th birthday that had been delayed due to the pandemic.
Tributes have poured in for the Chelsea icon: "This is truly sad news. We join the global football community in sending our deepest condolences to Marvin Hinton’s family, friends, and everyone at Chelsea FC."
A second said: "Another childhood hero passes ...farewell then Marvin Hinton, one of the 1970 originals..."
And another added: "Rest in peace, Marvin Hinton. A true Chelsea legend. Thinking of his family and friends."
