Arne Slot "doesn't care" about Mohamed Salah's career, according to a Premier League great.
There was no room for the Egyptian King during the Reds' return to form against West Ham on Sunday afternoon, when they triumphed 2-0 in London to end a losing streak. And former Manchester United and Chelsea defender Mikael Silvestre has claimed Salah's past achievements won't go into Slot's decision making process.
Speaking to Poker Scout, he said: “I’m not sure Arne Slot is planning too far ahead with Mohamed Salah at the moment. His main focus will be on putting together consecutive wins after going on a bad run.

"And if that means leaving Salah out of the starting XI again then so be it. Salah being dropped was always going to make the headlines because he has been a guaranteed starter for so many years.
"But it could have been anyone because most of the team have been really poor recently.
"Slot will be picking his team based on the specific opponent and on current form; he is not looking at Salah’s CV and what he has done in the past with his Liverpool career.
“It is not time for Slot to start thinking about a future for Liverpool without Mo Salah, because he still has a point to prove. I’m sure he will still be able to make a big contribution to Liverpool this season.”

Explaining his decision, Slot admitted he was uneasy dropping such a big name: “It is not a nice thing for him, not for a Liverpool fan and not for me.
“A player that has been so important for us, you want to see him on the pitch. I prefer to see Mo on the pitch, scoring his goals and doing something special rather than the camera being on him when he isn’t in the game.
"He has been so important for us, for so many years, and he will be important for us in the coming days – because it is days as he goes to the Africa Cup of Nations.”
