Manchester City survived a spirited fightback to beat Fulham 5-4 in a thrilling encounter at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night.
The visitors had cruised into a 3-0 lead shortly before half-time courtesy of goals from Erling Haaland, Tijjani Reijnders and Phil Foden, but Emile Smith Rowe pulled one back for Marco Silva’s side.
Foden then added his second shortly after the break, before an own goal extended their advantage.
Alex Iwobi then made it 5-2, before new signing Samuel Chukwueze netted twice to set up a nervy final ten minutes for Pep Guardiola’s side.
That result moved City to within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal, and now it appears that the club are set to be given a huge boost off the pitch too.
According to TEAMtalk, midfielder Foden is ready to commit his long-term future to his boyhood club.
Foden, who netted twice in City’s win over Fulham to take his tally for the season to eight in 18 games across all competitions, has been enjoying a fine campaign.

Having struggled last season, the midfielder looks to be back to his best and has 11 goal contributions already this term.
Foden’s current contract with Man City is set to expire at the end of the 2026/27 campaign, but the report suggests that the Englishman is set to sign a deal that will run well into the 2030s.
A product of Man City’s youth system, Foden has now scored 108 goals and provided 64 assists in 337 games for the Citizens across all competitions, as well as winning 17 trophies including six Premier League titles and the Champions League.
His teammate, Erling Haaland, recently signed a contract until 2034, and the report suggests that Foden could soon commit to a similar length deal.
