The Los Angeles Clippers' shocking season continues with a stunning roster move during the early hours of Wednesday morning. Chris Paul is expected to be on the move.
According to NBA reporter Chris Haynes, the Clippers informed the star guard they are sending him home in a "bizarre severing ties move." Shortly after it was announced that Paul is set to become a free agent soon, the veteran guard took to Instagram to release a seven-word response.
"Just found out I'm being sent home," Paul wrote on his Instagram story, with a peace sign emoji attached.

The Clippers released a statement of their own not long after the decision was made public.
"We are parting ways with Chris and he will no longer be with the team. We will work with him on the next step of his career. Chris is a legendary Clipper who had a historic career. I want to make one thing very clear: No one is blaming Chris for our underperformance. I accept responsibility for the record we have right now. There are a lot of reasons why we've struggled. We're grateful for the impact Chris has made on the franchise."
File this one under just another shocking factor playing into the Clippers' disappointing season.
The 40-year-old guard joined the Clippers for a second stint, following his one-year stretch with the San Antonio Spurs. Not only did Paul want to return to Los Angeles, a place he calls home, but he wanted to play for an NBA contender. So far, the Clippers have been everything but that.
With a 5-16 record, the Clippers are 14th in the Western Conference. They are only ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans as they head into a Wednesday night matchup against the Atlanta Hawks.
Through 16 games, Chris Paul has averaged 14.3 minutes per game off the bench. He has been shooting 32 percent from the field, producing 2.9 points per game. He also posted 3.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game.
Just a few weeks back, Paul confirmed that this year will be his last in the NBA. The Clippers' decision to send him home surely shakes up his farewell tour.
It's unclear what's next for Chris Paul's final sprint-but he won't be suiting up for the Clippers again, it seems.
