Jamie Carragher has been very vocal as of late regarding the form of Mohamed Salah.
Things have not gone to plan so far for Liverpool this season, with the majority of their players just not looking themselves, none more so than Salah.
The Egyptian has been their star player for years, but just four league goals this season, among poor performances, has seen him even be dropped on a few occasions.

As expected, almost everyone has had their say on the winger and whether he still has a future at the club, with Carragher being one of these.
However, he has been fairly critical in what he has said, and Sam Allardyce has called him out for it.

Salah’s performances have been questioned a lot so far this season, with there not really being a game where he has stood out or done anything special.
This has led to him getting his fair share of criticism from fans and pundits alike, with Carragher being one of those who has wondered where he now fits into this Liverpool side.

He even implied that his legs are gone and he might be over the hill, something that did not sit right with former manager Allardyce.
“Yeah. Jamie Carragher, obviously, Liverpool legend has criticised Liverpool a lot lately. And you know, fair play to him.,” he said on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast.
“So he said that Salah’s legs have gone. Do I agree that Salah’s legs have gone? Because obviously, he didn’t play in the West Ham game.
“Stop it. He should know better. He should really know better.
“I mean, that’s a pathetic statement. But he’s good at them, isn’t he? He’s good at that, you know, let’s just throw it out there for a bit of popularity to keep himself on the front end of it.”

There is no denying that Salah is one of the greatest Liverpool players in history, and he deserves to have a legacy like no other based on everything he has achieved.
But if supporters are being truthful, they will know that Salah is no longer part of their best XI, so bringing him off the bench might have to be something he gets used to.
Players like Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz, who have both played in his position this season, deserve the chance to show what they can do, with the baton now being passed on.
No matter what, he will always be a Liverpool legend, but Carragher might not be all that wrong with his comments as he enters, what looks to be, the twilight of his Reds career.
