Arsenal are monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya ahead of a potential summer move as Mikel Arteta looks to keep evolving his attack beyond the current campaign.
Reports from Germany suggest Arsenal’s interest is concrete and that Frankfurt have been informed of the Gunners’ intentions for 2026.
Bahoya is contracted to the Bundesliga club until 2029 and Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche is said to be demanding up to €70 million for the player.
Arsenal strengthened significantly in the summer and their depth has been a major factor in their strong start to the campaign.
They have however maintained a consistent focus on adding young, high-potential forwards and Bahoya is seen as one of the most gifted wide players emerging in Europe.
The 20-year-old can operate across the frontline but has mainly featured on the left, offering pace, dribbling and direct movement.
His numbers remain modest and he has not yet secured a permanent starting role for Frankfurt since arriving from Angers in early 2024.
He registered five goal contributions last season and has scored twice in the Bundesliga this term despite limited minutes.
Frankfurt view him as a player with long-term value and potential resale upside, which partly explains their high valuation.
Arsenal’s interest will also fuel speculation around the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard, who continue to share minutes on the left of the attack.
Both have contributed well this season, although there has been persistent external chatter about possible movement in the next two windows.
Arsenal have spent heavily on their attack in recent years but have consistently targeted emerging players capable of holding value over time.
Bahoya fits the profile of a fast, aggressive wide forward who could develop behind established starters while offering flexibility in rotations.
He is also a France Under-21 international, which aligns with Arsenal’s broader trend of signing players with the potential to grow into elite performers.
There are currently no talks between the clubs and the situation is not expected to progress quickly as Arsenal focus on their title challenge.
However, the fact that Frankfurt have been notified of the interest indicates that Arsenal are preparing early for another major summer window.
A move would not be straightforward given the valuation, but Bahoya remains on the club’s radar as they explore future options for wide reinforcement.
