Strasbourg have dropped star striker and captain Emmanuel Emegha ahead of their Conference League trip to Aberdeen.
The Ligue 1 side has announced that their Chelsea-bound striker has been disciplined and left out of their squad for their weekend clash with Toulouse. The punishment is currently for one game and, as it stands, the 22-year-old would come back into Liam Rosenior’s squad for next Thursday’s trip to Pittodrie.
A Strasbourg statement read: “Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace has decided to suspend Emmanuel Emegha for its next Ligue 1 match, this Saturday December 6 in Toulouse. This decision was taken following the player’s recent failure to respect the club’s values, expectations and rules.
“Racing reaffirms its commitment to the essential principles of exemplary conduct and respect for the collective framework. Emmanuel remains an important member of our team, who has always given his all for the club on the pitch. He will be reintegrated into the squad after this match. No further comments will be made.”
The French side have taken the no-nonsense stance after recent issues behind the scenes. The Dutch striker, who has seven goals, has agreed a pre-contract with Chelsea and is set to join their BlueCo sister club in the summer. Strasbourg are currently joint top of the Conference League. They are just behind Samsunspor after taking 10 points from their four games.

Jimmy Thelin's Dons are currently fourth bottom with just two points and need to win their remaining two games, against Strasbourg and away to Sparta Prague to have any chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.
