As you might have expected, the WNBA and WNBPA (players union) have agreed to extend Collective Bargaining negotiations through Jan. 9 2026. This came in a late night tweet by NBC contributor Khristina Williams last Sunday.
That came just a day or two before reports of a guaranteed [$1 million maximum player salary and a $5 million salary cap](/mystics/66596/wnba-1-million-maximum-salaries-earlier-season-start) were released. These are wins for the players’ union, but teams also proposed removing team housing, something that could give cause to pause for players who are on short-term contracts or get cut from teams midseason.
