With Mohamed Salah set to depart for AFCON later this month, Liverpool may be given a glimpse into what life could look like after the Egyptian.
The 33-year old has been well short of his usual standards this season, even being dropped for last weekend's visit to West Ham. While it remains to be seen whether this will be a consistent theme over the coming months, the club may well be planning for a future without their talisman.
If there is to be a parting of ways in the near future, Mohamed Salah may be tempted to reunite with one of his former Liverpool teammates.

Talksport are reporting that a number of Saudi clubs remain keen to bring Mohamed Salah to the country next summer, with Al Hilal said to be leading the chase for his signature.
Of course, Al Hilal have recently done business with Liverpool. They signed Darwin Nunez over the summer, a player that Salah had an excellent relationship with.

Speaking in 2024, Salah suggested that the Uruguayan striker was his one of his favourite teammates to play with.
It was Firmino, now I feel I generally like playing with Nunez.
A lot of people don’t like him but I like playing with him...
I like playing with him in general. A player with different skills. Not a lot of people understand his game.
Darwin Nunez has had a mixed start to life in Saudi Arabia, scoring five goals in 11 appearances. However, he has struggled with injuries in recent weeks.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool or Mohamed Salah would be open to a sale in the offseason, with the player having a contract that runs until the summer of 2027.

The Egyptian is said to have previously rejected a contract offer from the Saudi Pro League that would have seen him earn up to £500million over four seasons.
