Chelsea hold talks with Under-17 World Cup Golden Boot winner

Chelsea will hope to keep up the pressure on the Premier League’s top two by beating Leeds United on Wednesday night.

The Blues currently sit third in the table after a 1-1 draw against leaders Arsenal on Sunday, and Enzo Maresca will hope to see his side remain in third place after they visit Elland Road.

Cole Palmer could return to action having missed several weeks due to injury, with the England international having been an unused substitute against the Gunners last time out.

Chelsea’s policy of signing young stars from across the world appears to be paying dividends at the moment, with the likes of Estevao impressing in Maresca’s side.

Now, it has emerged that the London side have identified another youngster that they are impressed by, although they could miss out on the player.

As per TEAMtalk, the West London outfit have held talks with Austrian youngster Johannes Moser.

The 17-year-old recently won the Golden Boot award at the Under-17 World Cup, scoring eight times in the tournament.

It is claimed that both Chelsea and Manchester City have held talks in an attempt to persuade the teenager to leave current club Liefering, but the two Premier League sides are set to miss out on the signing.

Moser has scored once and provided one assist in 13 senior games for Liefering, having spent time with RB Salzburg’s youth system as a youngster.

The Austrian is a versatile player capable of operating in a vast array of roles, including as a left-back, winger, or attacking midfielder.

It is claimed that Man City were aware of Moser prior to his impressive displays at the Under-17 World Cup in Qatar, but the player himself is set to snub the chance to move to the Premier League.
