Daniel Farke is fighting for his managerial future at Elland Road after a run of form has left Leeds United languishing in the Premier League relegation zone.

The German, who guided the club to the Championship title with a remarkable 100-point haul last season, now finds himself on the brink of dismissal.

Leeds have lost six of their last seven matches, including four consecutive defeats, and sit 18th in the table with just 11 points from 13 fixtures.

Reports have suggested that Leeds United will sack Farke if he loses against Chelsea this evening and Liverpool at the weekend.

Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has already been linked as a potential replacement.

Rodgers is a free agent of a mutual separation from Celtic in October.

And it seems Leeds United are keeping in theme with the Liverpool connection according to the latest reports.

TalkSPORT have claimed that former Reds coach Gary O’Neil has emerged as a candidate to replace Daniel Farke at Leeds United should the beleaguered German be relieved of his duties in the coming days.

The 42-year-old has been out of work since his dismissal from Wolverhampton Wanderers in December 2024.

The former Portsmouth and West Ham midfielder joined Liverpool’s academy setup in August 2020, serving as assistant coach to Barry Lewtas with the Under-23s.

He departed Anfield in February 2021 to take up a first-team coaching role at Bournemouth under Jonathan Woodgate -a move that would ultimately springboard him into senior management when he was appointed caretaker boss following Scott Parker’s sacking in August 2022

The 42-year-old was also in the frame for a return to Wolves, but the Midlands club have decided to go with former Luton Town manager Rob Edwards.
