Newcastle United 2 Spurs 2 - match review
Tino Livramento has been a revelation since joining Newcastle United in 2023.
Manchester City reportedly remain firmly interested in Newcastle United star Tino Livramento.
Since arriving in 2023, Livramento has developed into one of the Premier League’s top right-backs under Eddie Howe. He has the position pinned down at St James' Park and has now been capped for England three times.
Barring injury, he is now considered a shoo-in to make Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the World Cup. Capable of playing equally as well at left-back, Livramento’s versatility is also a valuable asset.
Man City interest
Reports first emerged earlier this year linking Livramento with Man City. Pep Guardiola’s side have struggled to nail a regular starter at right-back in recent months.
Matheus Nunes has struggled as a makeshift option, with Rico Lewis also falling down the pecking order. The Athletic claim City place Livramento at the top of their wish list as a long-term solution.
An approach never came in the summer due to Newcastle’s price demands. However, with Livramento continuing to impress, it is hard to argue that the Magpies would slap anything other than a £100million price tag on the 23-year-old’s head.
Tino Livramento coy on Newcastle United future
Livramento will have two years to run on his current deal at the end of the season. It is understood that an extension is high on new sporting director Ross Wilson’s list of priorities.
When asked by NewcastleWorld if he has spoken to Wilson, Livramento replied: “That's nothing that I'm in control of. I leave that to my dad, to my agent. For me, I've been out for seven weeks.
“I've been working really hard to come back and obviously help the team. I'm very happy with how I've played (against Man City). That's my focus, staying where I'm at now. That's always been my focus. Helping the team as much as I can.”
