With every game that goes by, Leeds United get more desperate for a result. The Whites have now lost four games in a row, and have a difficult midweek clash at home to Chelsea.
Daniel Farke’s future has been the main topic at Elland Road in the past few weeks; before the international break, there were rumours he could be sacked as early as the first week of December. The heart-breaking loss to Manchester City was yet another poor result, but there was a bit of optimism in the game.

Farke’s tactical change in the second half saw his side dominate proceedings at the Etihad. It took the brilliance of Phil Foden in added time to decide the game. The team will have to dig deep if they are to pull off a result against Enzo Maresca and Chelsea.
Sky Sports reporter delivers update on Leeds United boss Daniel Farke
Ahead of Wednesday night’s game, the news has been dominated by the future of Daniel Farke. Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett has reported that the Leeds United chiefs will be keenly monitoring the match amidst pressure on the German boss.
”Tonight’s game against Chelsea could prove pivotal for Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United.” he posted on his X account.
”I’m told bosses at Elland Road are concerned by autumn downturn in results and there will be serious conversations if four straight defeats become five.
”Tweaked tactics and a more spirited second half performance against Manchester City give hope.”
Gary O’Neil, Brendan Rodgers and Ange Postecoglou are some names that have popped up in recent weeks.
Sunday’s second half performance can be key
Against Manchester City, Farke’s decision to bring on an extra center back in Jaka Bijol and add Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top completely changed the game. And for the first 10 minutes of the second half, the Whites could have easily scored more goals. Home form could also count for a lot; Leeds seem to be more comfortable at home than on the road. And with such a crucial game, maybe Farke and his men can pull off a result.
The team showed a lot of fighting spirit, and on another day could have gotten a huge result. But if Leeds can channel that energy on Wednesday night, fans could be leaving Elland Road in a very happy mood.
