Daniel Farke’s position had been in doubt after his Leeds side lost four on the spin, but they supplied a brilliant performance at Elland Road to dispatch the lacklustre Blues and hoist themselves out of the relegation zone.
Goals from Ao Tanaka and Jaka Bijol had them two to the good come half-time, but Chelsea seemed set for a comeback after substitute Pedro Neto pulled one back moments into the second period.
But a howler from Tosin Adarabioyo gifted Dominic Calvert-Lewin a third with a quarter of an hour remaining, and Chelsea were deservedly beaten.
Cole Palmer came on in the second half to make his first appearance since being injured in September, but failed to affect a turnaround.
