Chelsea failed to follow up their valiant 1-1 draw with Arsenal by falling to a 3-1 defeat against Leeds.
Goals from Jaka Bijol, Ao Tanaka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin secured a 3-1 win for Daniel Farke’s side, with Pedro Neto’s early second-half strike proving in vain.
The Blues got off to the worst possible start when Bijol headed powerfully past Sanchez before Tanaka curled in a great strike from distance on the stroke of half time.
Neto gave Chelsea a lifeline but Tosin losing the ball in his own box was punished when Calvert-Lewin tapped home from a few yards out.
Blues boss Enzo Maresca had opted to leave out Reece James, Neto and Wesley Fofana, while the recently fit again Cole Palmer came on as a second-half substitute.
