Liverpool needed a late own goal to rescue a point against Sunderland at Anfield. Confidence was high heading into the game after a morale-boosting 2-0 victory over West Ham United at the weekend.
However, the first-half was a rather drab affair, although Alex Mac Allister did hit the woodwork. Sunderland, though, took a deserved lead when Chemsdine Talbi's 25-yard shot deflected in off Virgil van Dijk.
Liverpool, to their credit, rallied to the setback and rescued a point when Florian Wirtz's shot deflected in off Nordi Mukiele with nine minutes left. And below is a look at Liverpool’s next five fixtures in the Premier League compared to their rivals.

Brighton (H) - Saturday, December 13
Tottenham (A) - Saturday, December 20
Wolves (H) - Saturday, December 27
Leeds United (H) - Thursday, December 1
Verdict: Newly-promoted Leeds welcome Slot’s side this weekend, and they will be full of confidence after beating Chelsea on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Brighton have struggled on their travels this season.
Either side of Christmas, Liverpool take on Tottenham and Wolves, with both teams struggling significantly for results on their own patch and away from home, respectively.
Chelsea's next five fixtures

Everton (H) - Saturday, December 13
Newcastle (A) - Saturday, December 20
Aston Villa (H) - Saturday, December 27
Bournemouth (H) - Tuesday, December 30
Verdict: Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Leeds when they take on Bournemouth on Saturday. The Cherries are currently five games without a win after being beaten by Everton on Tuesday night.
Games against Everton and Newcastle United before Christmas are also expected to be tough tests. While a trip to Villa Park after Christmas will be tricky.
Manchester City's next five fixtures
Sunderland (H) - Saturday, December 6
Crystal Palace (A) - Sunday, December 14
West Ham (H) - Saturday, December 20
Nottingham Forest (A) - Saturday, December 27
Sunderland (A) - Thursday, January 1
Verdict: Sunderland away is one of the toughest games in the Premier League at the minute. A trip to Selhurst Park will also be tricky. But West Ham at home before Christmas could be more straightforward.
Manchester United's next five fixtures
West Ham United (H) - Thursday, December 4
Wolves (A) - Monday, December 8
Bournemouth (H) - Monday, December 15
Aston Villa (A) - Sunday, December 21
Newcastle United (H) - Friday, December 26
