Opinion: Everton star must add one thing to his game quickly as David Moyes' injury crisis…

Everton fans will be over the moon after their 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday evening – but one star will be questioning what more he can do after his move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton have now won three of their previous four games in the Premier League, moving up to 10th after gameweek 14. David Moyes’ men are just three points off fourth place, and stand a real chance of qualifying for European football if they can keep up their current form.

However, with injuries and suspensions ravaging their side, it’s seen them field a weakened squad lately, which is set to continue through the Africa Cup of Nations.

And after a lack of minutes in a time of need, it’s clear that Tyler Dibling must add more if he is to actually blossom at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Tyler Dibling has barely played for David Moyes despite Everton injuries

Everton signed Tyler Dibling from Southampton in the summer transfer window after a promising run of form in the Premier League last season.

However, despite his evident talent, the youngster has barely featured under David Moyes.

Just one start in the Premier League came in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace in October, though he was hooked at half-time – and his other four top-flight outings have seen him play just a combined 27 minutes.

One of those was with 10 minutes left against Newcastle on Saturday, with Everton 4-1 down, and Dibling hasn’t had a meaningful amount of time to influence a result in almost two months.

That is made even more bizarre by Everton’s current availability crisis and it almost certainly means that Dibling needs to add something to his game under David Moyes.

Everton need Tyler Dibling to start racking up goals and assists before trusting him more

Alongside the other attacking substitutes that Everton boast in Carlos Alcaraz and Dwight McNeil, Dibling has the highest ceiling.

But his output in the Premier League needs to show that, in comparison to his peers.

Alcaraz was offered a rare start and recorded the game-winning assist against Bournemouth on Tuesday, taking his tally of contributions in the top-flight with Everton to six in just 26 games.

McNeil has also struggled for minutes this season thanks to Jack Grealish’s arrival, but he’s had 31 contributions in 98 outings for the Toffees in the Premier League – a superb return.

Dibling has perhaps been stunted by his first campaign being with Southampton, one of the worst campaigns by a side in the competition’s history, but with three in 38, that needs to improve.
