FC Barcelona, despite boasting an attack featuring Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and Ferran Torres, is actively preparing for the future.
The Catalan club is already searching for a long-term successor to the 37-year-old Lewandowski. With [Raphinha](https://semprebarca.com/topics/raphinha/) approaching his 29th birthday and Marcus Rashford’s future still unclear, the Blaugranes now seem to be exploring options for reliable cover on the left flank as well.
This pursuit was highlighted by journalist Alfredo Martínez on the program _Moeve Fútbol Zone_, with his comments reported by [SPORT](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/tres-extremos-sigue-cerca-barca-124345084). Martínez revealed that the Catalan club has three young players in particular in their sights to reinforce the left wing.
**“It’s the time of the market to start looking for positions. The coach himself said it the other day. Barça is looking for, among others, a left winger, a man who can provide cover for Raphinha,”** the journalist stated.
Martínez also touched upon the uncertainty surrounding Marcus Rashford, who is on a season-long loan from Manchester United.
**“The decision on whether or not Rashford continues has not yet been made. There are voices in favor and voices against, some because Rashford is not that pressing footballer. Furthermore, he has a very high salary; perhaps he has other concerns.”**
Regardless of how that situation develops, the club remains determined to strengthen the left wing. As per Martínez, João Amaral, who leads FC Barcelona’s scouting department, has already taken an active role in evaluating potential options.
**“The truth is that, just in case, Barça is looking for a player for the left profile. The other day, there was a meeting of representatives in Milan attended by João Amaral, who is now Deco’s right-hand man. Taking advantage of the fact that he was in Milan, he went in situ to see the Italy-Norway match, in which Haaland played and in which a gem of only 20 years old named Antonio Nusa played.”**
Nusa, who currently plays for Leipzig after joining from Club Brugge in 2024, is valued by Transfermarkt at €28 million. He is renowned for his speed and excellent dribbling ability.
Nusa is not the only player being tracked by the Catalans. Martínez named two other exciting prospects:
**“He is one of the players on Barça’s list, because the club has also followed Malick Fofana, from Olympique Lyonnais, and is following Said El Mala, another extraordinary winger from Cologne who has already broken into the German national team,”** he added.

What seems evident is that Barcelona are thoroughly analyzing the market for a player who can contribute on the left side of the attack. The profile of the targets is clear: the club is prioritizing young wingers with impressive speed and exceptional dribbling ability.
This focus on youthful talent appears to be a contingency plan, regardless of the final decision regarding Rashford’s continuity, as the club seeks to secure the long-term future and dynamism of the team’s wide attacking options. It remains to be seen which of these exciting prospects will be picked by the Blaugranes to enhance their left wing.
