Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat against Leeds United was a tough outing for all involved, however was a particularly difficult evening for Tosin Adarabioyo.
The defender hadn’t featured at all since the win over Burnley, however was thrown back into a rotated defence alongside Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile.
Chelsea fans slammed Enzo Maresca for starting Tosin, with him being caught in possession for the third goal just as they looked as if they were getting back into the game.

Strong performances from the duo of Wesley Fofana and Chalobah kept Tosin on the bench for the huge games against Barcelona and Arsenal, however the Frenchman’s fitness woes meant he was unavailable for selection.

Chelsea’s horrible recent record with Tosin Adarabioyo starting
The argument is strong for Tosin not to continue to feature for the Blues, with the amount of goals Chelsea concede in those games difficult to argue against.

Chelsea have conceded just three goals in the last five games Tosin hasn’t started, with one of those against Sunderland coming when he was on the pitch.
Comparing this to the 11 conceded in his last five starts is not pretty reading for the centre-back, and should make Maresca’s decision easy going forwards.

Enzo Maresca must use Josh Acheampong instead of Tosin
There were zero minutes on offer again for Josh Acheampong against Leeds, with the treatment of the youngster bordering on bizarre.
Maresca said Fofana and Chalobah’s displays were holding Acheampong back, but he has now started two different centre-backs against Leeds before turning to the Cobham graduate.

With outside transfer interest in the centre-back, Chelsea really don’t want to risk the chance of losing him by not giving him enough minutes.
The clash against Bournemouth on Saturday is the perfect opportunity to utilise Acheampong and partner him with Fofana, with Chalobah playing plenty of minutes of late.
