Liverpool will be facing a far more confident Leeds United side at Elland Road on Saturday after the Whites beat Chelsea 3-1 at home on Wednesday night.
Daniel Farke’s men roared back to form against Chelsea and ended their four-game losing streak with an emphatic performance against a Blues side who are still in the Premier League’s top four.

Farke needed the result to not only save his job, but also show that Leeds are still a side who can survive in the top flight this season. The doom and gloom around Elland Road has lifted.
They are set to host Liverpool at home on Saturday, and former Red striker Michael Owen has indicated that he is not exactly confident about the away side’s chances.
‘Leeds United could get points against his Liverpool side’ – Michael Owen
Liverpool dropped more points on Wednesday night when Sunderland managed a 1-1 draw against the reigning champions at Anfield.
Sunderland could have walked away with all three points if not for a goal-line clearance in injury time, with Liverpool again looking shaky at the back against another team.
Farke was dealing with rumours of getting sacked this week before the narrative around Leeds changed on Wednesday night when they beat Chelsea.
Owen believes the Leeds United manager is the perfect example of how things can change quickly in football as the Whites are suddenly looking like a different team under him.
He is worried that the current Liverpool side will likely drop more points against Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday.
“There were rumours before today that his job might be under a bit of pressure”, Owen said on Premier League productions.
“If they had lost today, who knows? I’m not sure. But after that result, all of a sudden, things are looking up.
“With the way Liverpool are playing, they could get points against Liverpool.
“If the season finished today, he’d be an absolute hero. It’s a strange old world management, that’s why we’re sat here.”
Leeds should get a result against Liverpool
Liverpool are in a horrible run of form at the moment, with Arne Slot failing to get any sort of consistency out of a side that won the Premier League last season.
They have won just two of their last nine Premier League games while losing six. They probably should have lost against Sunderland on Wednesday night had the away side taken their chance at the death.
The Reds do have a good recent record against Leeds, winning three of their last five games. In fact, they won 6-1 on their last trip to Elland Road.
However, the two teams are in completely different moods. While Leeds are confident after beating Chelsea, Liverpool are struggling for consistency and form.
At home, with the crowd behind them, and a different formation, Leeds United should frustrate a Liverpool side who are struggling to open up teams who are sitting back.
And with the Reds’ defence looking suspect every week, Leeds should end up creating the chances needed to find the back of the net despite not controlling possession.
Leeds only had 29 per cent of the ball against Chelsea, but looked more threatening in attack and had more attempts on Wednesday night.
The same template will likely get them a result against Liverpool.
