Arsenal and Tottenham may not back away from Rayan, but any interested club now face a tougher scenario.
Vasco have finally reached an agreement to extend the striker’s contract until 2028, according to a report fromO Globo. The new deal comes as the club try to protect themselves from constant interest coming from Europe.
Vasco reach agreement before decisive fixtures
The Rio side wanted the renewal done before the final stages of the Brazilian season and their Copa do Brasil semi-final. They have now reached an understanding with Rayan’s representatives and family to extend a contract that previously ran until 2026.Vasco moved quickly to ensure their star would not be able to leave for free in the middle of next year.
The club increased Rayan’s salary once again and kept the structure that allows the forward and his family to retain a share of his economic rights. Vasco even offered to buy the remaining 30% held by the player’s family to guarantee them income without depending on a future mega-transfer. That proposal is still on the table.
New valuation and European interest
Rayan’s release clause currently stands at €40m. Inside the club, the expectation is that any sale will fall between €25m and €30m. Even so, Vasco plan to keep him through 2026, using the new deal to control timing and value.
The report adds that Barcelona continue to consider Rayan a market target. Porto and Milan have also made enquiries as his name grows across Europe.
What this means for the Premier League
Arsenal and Tottenham have followed Rayan for months, sending scouts and gathering information as his form exploded in 2025. The renewal gives Vasco a stronger defensive line, but it does not remove the possibility of a future sale.
With 19 goals this season, including 14 in the league, Rayan remains one of Brazil’s most productive young forwards. The Premier League clubs will keep watch, even if the new deal means they may need to spend more to bring him to England.
