Ben White was glad to start again as he has ‘missed’ playing for Arsenal

**Ben White**shared his thoughts on a 2-0 win for **Arsenal**against Brentford.

The Englishman had not been in the starting eleven for a single Premier League game for the Gunners since he played in the 1-0 victory over **Man United**at **Old Trafford**at the start of the season. Jurrien Timber took the time to rest on this occasion, and even if White will not break back into the lineup at right back with his performance, he laid down a marker after issues with fitness.

The 28-year-old underwent knife surgery last November, and it has been a battle for the player to get back his sharpness on the pitch. He hopes to be on the other side of those struggles, having linked up well with Noni Madueke in several exchanges, including the buildup to a Mikel Merino header.

Madueke, who moved for £52 million from Chelsea, has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the squad on both flanks and a capable backup for Bukayo Saka on the right wing. Like Madueke, White knows everyone has to fight for places, and he was happy to help the team return to winning ways.

"It was nice. Obviously, three points are the most important thing today. Last week was a big week and you need to follow up the following week, so it was really important to win.

*“[Noni] has come to the team and it's no different than playing with Bukayo Saka. So it was nice to get out there and win and play.*

"Amazing. It's like any game that we win, it's so important for us and we're just going to take it game by game. I've missed it. Obviously, I had quite a long time out. I had a few issues with my knee. So it was nice to get it done tonight."
