No words needed: Thanasis’ face sums up Giannis Antetokounmpo’s injury

Milwaukee Bucks superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpolasted just three minutes in Wednesday’s marquee matchupagainst the visiting Detroit Pistons at Fiserv Forum.

Early in the contest, the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player went down with an apparent leg injury. It was a surprising and worrisome sight for the Bucks, especially since he fell down the court without making any contact after assisting on an AJ Green bucket.

Antetokounmpo immediately signalled to the bench and looked visibly disappointed as he sat on the floor. The look on his face was far from encouraging or comforting.

The same can be said about the facial reaction of Antetokounmpo’s brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, whose face was briefly shown on the broadcast.

Giannis left the game with just two points, but despite his early exit and meager contribution, the Bucks found a way to take down Cade Cunningham and the Pistons.

Kevin Porter Jr. continued his stellar play since returning from a long injury absence, as he dropped 26 points while shooting 8-for-18 from the field and 3-for-8 from behind the arc. Meanwhile, Ryan Rolloins and Green provided 22 and 19 points, respectively. The bench got into it as well, with Jericho Sims surprising everyone with a season-high 15 points to go with the 13 points from Bobby Portis.

As a team, the Bucks shot 49 percent from the field while limiting Detroit to just 40 percent.

The Pistons had a lead as many as 18 points, but a huge second half from the Bucks ultimately got the job done for Milwaukee, which now carries a 10-13 record.
