The hard work Chelsea put in across November instantly fell apart after they were beaten 3-1 by Leeds United at Elland Road.
Enzo Maresca rotated his side after a string of games in quick succession, but felt the consequence of his actions. Tosin Adarabioyo struggled in his first appearance in three games.
Moises Caicedo was suspended, but the Italian also chose not to start Reece James, Cole Palmer and Wesley Fofana due to varying levels of fitness woes.
The Blues only really improved when they made a number of substitutions, with Maresca picking out Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho as his best performers.

John Terry thinks Enzo Maresca will rotate less after Chelsea’s loss to Leeds
The wingers have both been starting a lot for Chelsea recently, with them clearly impressing the boss enough to be regulars in the side.
John Terry believes the defeat against Leeds could see the end of Maresca’s mass rotation policy, with some of the players clearly not up to the task of minutes in the Premier League.
He said on his TikTok: “Goal from a set-piece, individual mistakes defensively, clearly not good enough. Maybe that’s an opportunity for the manager to look at the squad and go ‘okay, rotation’s not for me going forward. I know my best starting 11, or best starting 13 or 14, and I’m going to stick with that.’
“The players are just going to have to deal with it.”

Why has Maresca been rotating so much?
No Premier League side have made as many changes to their starting line-up as Chelsea have this season.
The Blues have been competing on three fronts already in this campaign, and Chelsea have a brutal upcoming fixture list to navigate.
They are also certainly going to be feeling the effects of not having much time off over the summer, due to their participation and eventual triumph in the Club World Cup.
The games continue to come Chelsea’s way in quick succession, and they will be back in action on Saturday with a trip to Bournemouth.
