Liverpool appears to be turning a corner on the injury front after weeks of significant absentees for Arne Slot’s options.
The Reds have endured a torrid spell with key players sidelined, but recent developments suggest some relief is incoming.
Goalkeeper Alisson and summer signing Florian Wirtz have both returned to full training and competitive action, providing much-needed quality in crucial areas of the pitch.
Right-back Conor Bradley, who has missed the last three matches with a muscle injury, returned to modified team training on Monday and could be contention to feature in the Leeds clash, with Slot cautiously optimistic about his availability.
Most encouragingly, Jeremie Frimpong is progressing well in his rehabilitation and could make a welcome comeback in mid-December, having been sidelined since October with a hamstring issue.
And yet more positive news has arrived on the injury front.
Jayden Danns is back on the grass at the AXA Training Centre doing ball work and could be fit again early in the new year.
This is according to Lewis Steele, with the 19-year-old striker enduring a torrid 18 months plagued by persistent injury setbacks.
Danns underwent minor surgery on a serious hamstring injury that he sustained in late September while taking a free-kick during the under-21s’ Premier League 2 clash against Ipswich Town.
Medical imaging revealed the severity of the issue, with the teenager initially feared to face months on the sidelines. However, he is now believed to be progressing a few weeks ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation, though patience remains key to avoiding any recurrence.
The latest problem adds to what has been a frustrating spell for the talented forward.
Prior to this hamstring blow, Danns had a loan move to Sunderland in February 2025 derailed by a troubling back injury that surfaced during pre-season at Liverpool.
A stress fracture in his back was diagnosed in August 2024, and despite signing a new contract and completing a loan switch to the Black Cats, he never trained or played a single minute for Régis Le Bris’ side due to the persistent issue.
