Key Everton Hill Dickinson figure 'set' to take up a new role at Premier League rivals

Everton’s move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium has been a resounding success for a number of reasons – and now a Premier League club are looking to follow suit.

Everton spent 133 years at Goodison Park, signing off from the iconic relic in May with a win over Southampton at the end of the Premier League season.

They’ve only lost twice on home soil since moving, which has been a huge reason for David Moyes’ men finding their way into the top half.

But on a commercial level, it’s been superb for the club. And that has reportedly seen Tottenham Hotspur look to emulate them in terms of naming rights.

The report by The Telegraph states that with Daniel Levy being criticised for failing to land a naming rights deal for their new stadium, new changes by the Lewis family means that Alex Scotcher will start as the club’s new commercial director in January.

Scotcher previously worked on the naming rights deal for Everton, having been at consultancy firm Elevate – who he joined from Roma.

The Friedkin Group own the Serie A giants as well as Everton, and having masterminded the deal to name the Toffees’ new ground as The Hill Dickinson Stadium from its usual Bramley Moore Dock tag, Spurs have sought his expertise.

Elevate were appointed by Everton as the sponsorship sales agency for the new ground, landing a £10million-per-year deal over the next decade with the Liverpool-based law firm.

A statement read: “When we talk about what that venue was and how we took it to market, it was [positioned as] a sports and entertainment destination where Premier League football was on the menu.

“But we’ve also got major touring artists, a 20,000-person capacity fan plaza in one of Europe’s most exciting, vibrant, burgeoning cities.‍

“We talked about it less as a football stadium, and more about a fully programmed 365 sports and entertainment destination.”

With Everton’s new ground being a roaring success, it appears that Tottenham now wish to follow suit.

Everton have already seen the rewards of a stadium move first hand

The fact that Tottenham have failed to land a naming rights partner for almost seven years, whilst Everton walked into their first competitive game boasting a sponsored stadium, speaks volumes.

The Hill Dickinson Stadium has already earned a spot at Euro 2028, the Rugby League’s Magic Weekend and the Rugby League Ashes.

And, with a financial boost, as well as potential expansion, it’s proven to be a hugely positive move from Goodison Park, with the new stadium being ranked as the seventh-most valuable in the world.

The Old Lady will be missed after Everton spent all but their formative years in L4, but the move is already reaping benefits for Everton to get themselves back to the top of the footballing pyramid.
