Last month, ParmaLive mentioned Chelsea as a suitor for Parma’s Zion Suzuki. Arsenal are now emerging as a candidate for the goalkeeper.
It was reported the Italian side will look to execute the Japanese’s sale next summer. This would happen after the FIFA World Cup, which could help escalate the goalkeeper’s valuation.
Calciomercato now report that Arsenal also have their eyes on the Japan international.
There is belief that the queue for the player is growing, with a host of Italian sides also keeping an eye. AC Milan and Inter Milan could both need goalkeepers in the summer. The contracts of Mike Maignan and Yann Sommer are expiring in 2026.
With Suzuki injured for the next few months, Parma have signed Vicente Guaita as a replacement. This can make the youngster’s exit more likely.
Arsenal do not specifically need a goalkeeper and that makes the link a bit strange.
Besides, the Italian press has hyped Suzuki quite a bit in the last few months. It will not be a surprise if this grows, even if the goalkeeper has a long-term finger injury.
Chelsea would much more suitable candidates. Robert Sanchez has had problems this season and the Blues tried to sign Milan’s Mike Maignan last summer.
