Everton owners show their charitable side – Christmas party cancelled for something ‘truly important’

Everton owners the Friedkins have shown their charitable side at Roma, by cancelling their extravagant Christmas party.

That’s not as bad as it sounds, though. Corriere dello Sport report that they’ve instead donated the money saved for Christmas to charity instead.

They explain that there will be no exclusive, five-star Christmas party at Roma this year. Instead, there will be a simple, heartfelt ‘toast in Trigoria’. That’s not a money saving exercise, though.

Instead, they’re doing something ‘more concrete and noble’. Dan and Ryan Friedkin, who also own Everton, have decided to donate the budget for the event to three charitable organisations instead.

The newspaper states that it will be ‘significant sums’ too. It seems Roma’s big bash usually demands ‘hundreds of thousands’ of Euros. This is due to lights, buffets, venue rentals and special guests.

The Friedkins have regularly organised special evenings, but this year wanted to do something different. They wanted to do something ‘for the community’. And, as a result, they’ll be donating to charity instead.

Specifically, they’re giving the money to Bambino Gesù Hospital, Telethon, and the Andrea Tudisco Association. CDS praise them for that, saying they are contributing to something ‘truly important’. According to them there’s always a need for that, especially at Christmas. It would be surprising if they don’t do similar at Everton
