Giannis Antetokounmpo is back again in the news after Shams Charania reported the player, his agent and the franchise are discussing Antetokounmpo’s future. The two-time NBA MVP has been one of the most sought-after players in the league, even after he signed multiple contract extensions with the Milwaukee Bucks.
After playing his entire career in Milwaukee, Antetokounmpo and the Bucks might be heading toward a divorce, but nothing is official at this moment. Even so, the possibility of seeing Antetokounmpo available should entice the other 31 teams in the association.

During an appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Thursday, insider Brian Windhorst reported that Antetokounmpo identified the New York Knicks as a potential landing spot.
“He discussed the Knicks in August; he showed interest there,” Windhorst said. “If I were the New York Knicks, as soon as I heard about this, I would have had a meeting. The Knicks would potentially be on Giannis’ list, but the feel would be that Giannis might expand it.
“And the reason Giannis’ opinion matters here: he only has one year left on his contract that’s guaranteed. He has a player option after next season. Because he only got one year guaranteed left, he would probably have a role in where the Bucks might send him.”

On Wednesday, Windhorst reported that Antetokounmpo grew frustrated with the Bucks after they waived Damian Lillard.
“Teams have been thinking about Giannis potentially being on the trade market for over a year,” Windhorst said. “Giannis saw that move (Dame being waived) and then was interested in being a Knick. He couldn’t have been more clear about where he felt about the Bucks roster.”

Additionally, being 9-13 and struggling without the Greek player on the court hasn’t helped the team’s case. Antetokounmpo was linked with the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and others during the offseason. This report will add fuel to the speculation regarding the future of one of the best players in the association.
