Daniel Farke has admitted he is fearing that Mohamed Salah will return to his “world class” form against Leeds United, refusing to underestimate Liverpool despite their poor form this season.
Counterpart Arne Slot is under pressure with Liverpool winning just one game in their past five games with the defending champions languishing ninth in the Premier League. Their draw with Sunderland on Wednesday saw them go two league games unbeaten for the first time since September.
Salah has not started either of these matches but could come back into the line-up at Elland Road on Saturday. Farke is hoping that Salah’s goalless streak - which has now lasted for more than a month - will extend.
Asked if he fears the quick hit-back from Salah this weekend, Farke said: “Yes because he's a world class player with world class numbers.
"When such a player has a difficult period, it's always pretty dangerous because the more games without the goal or without an assist, the more likely it is that you will score then or assist.
"Hopefully the dry spell lasts one more game.”

Liverpool’s defence has been criticised with Ibrahima Konate facing scrutiny for his output while Virgil Van Dijk has also been questioned.
Asked about the duo, Farke said: “I wouldn't label it with Konate and Van Dijk they are struggling at the back. They are world class defenders,” he said.
“As a striker sometimes you can lose the ball but if you have a mistake in the back row it can be criticised. So I have no doubt we will also face top class centre-backs who have proven this over many years, and also about this season also against like Real Madrid, it's not too long ago.”
In terms of team news, there will be late calls over Lukas Nmecha (hamstring) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (calf) while Sean Longstaff and Daniel James remain long-term doubts.
