Liverpool and Arsenal are both reportedly preparing bids to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo in January.
The Gunners are currently top of the Premier League table, after a 1-1 draw against Chelsea over the weekend. They are two points above Man City, who beat Fulham on Tuesday night, and will go into January very happy with their current squad.

However, Arsenal have been linked with Real Madrid winger Rodrygo for around a year now, with serious reports suggesting they could have moved for him in the summer. The Brazilian hasn’t had the game time he would have wanted under Xabi Alonso, and reports are now saying he could leave in January.
According to Caught Offside, Arsenal and Liverpool are both preparing bids for the Brazilian winger. It is understood that Real Madrid could be willing to sell him if they receive an offer in the region of £74m. It is a hefty amount, but for a winger of Rodrygo’s quality, very fair.
The 24-year-old has made 12 La Liga appearances this season, but several of them have been from the bench, which he does not want.
Surely Arsenal won’t sign Rodrygo…will they?
Initially when looking at this, the reaction would be no chance, however, it would depend on Arsenal selling players in January to allow the budget and squad space for Rodrygo.
Reports have said that Gabriel Martinelli could be sold in January if the right offer comes in. There has been interest in the Gunners’ winger from the Saudi Pro League, and so Arsenal could sell him for a heftu chunk of money.
If they were to sell Martinelli, they would be keen to bring in a replacement, and Rodrygo would be the ideal option to replace him with. Rodrygo is quicker, better on the ball, and a better goal-scorer than Martinelli, making it the ideal transfer move for the Gunners.
It is certainly a situation to keep an eye on heading into the January transfer window next month…
