Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw with Sunderland on Wednesday night, leaving them winless at home in all competitions for a month.

Liverpool had to settle for a point in their latest Premier League clash. The midweek match against newly-promoted Sunderland saw the Reds come from behind in a 1-1 draw.
Chemsdine Talbi put the Black Cats ahead in the 67th minute of the game. But with nine minutes of normal time remaining, Florian Wirtz’s shot deflected off Nordi Mukiele to draw Liverpool level.
The result has slowed down the momentum taken from the weekend’s 2-0 away win against West Ham United. It also means that Arne Slot’s men have won just one of their last four Premier League games as their struggles continue.
Another concern for the Liverpool boss may be his side’s home form. The draw means that the Reds are winless in their last three games at Anfield in all competitions.
The last home win came in the Champions League against Real Madrid, exactly a month ago. Since then, they have fallen to a 3-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest and a 4-1 loss vs PSV in the Champions League as well as drawing against Sunderland.
According to Opta, that result marks the first time Liverpool have failed to win in three consecutive home games in almost five years. Back in March 2021, Liverpool failed to win their eighth game in a row at Anfield under former manager Jurgen Klopp.
That run came in the period where games were played behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It could be argued that the lack of home fans had an impact on the team.

The run under Klopp started on December 27 with a 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion.
There was then a 0-0 draw vs Manchester United, 1-0 losses vs Burnley and Brighton, a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Man City, a 2-0 defeat against Everton and 1-0 losses to Chelsea and Fulham. The Reds got back to winning ways at Anfield with a 2-0 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig on March 10.
Both the season before and the season after, they remained unbeaten at home in the Premier League.
Given Liverpool’s struggles this season, it’s a run that Slot will want to end sooner rather than later. The Reds have two away games over the next week, with a trip to Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday (5.30pm kick-off), before travelling to Italy to take on Inter in the Champions League on Tuesday night (8pm).
They return to Anfield on Saturday, December 12 (3pm), when they host Brighton in the Premier League. Liverpool currently sit in eighth place in the table, having picked up 22 points from their 14 games so far.
