76ers vs. Warriors: The matchup

The Warriors will arrive in the City of Brotherly Love without the services of future Hall of Famer Steph Curry, who is not with the Warriors as they embark on their three-game road trip because of a left thigh contusion. Including the home matchup against the Houston Rockets, in which Curry was injured, the Warriors are 1-2 in three games since, with losses to the Rockets (104-100) and Oklahoma City Thunder (124-112) and a win over the New Orleans Pelicans (104-96). Golden State fell to the Thunder on Tuesday before traveling to the East Coast for three straight on the road.

The 76ers are 3.5-point favorites over a Warriors team in need of scoring options during Curry’s absence, having won two of their past three games to improve to 11-9 through their first 20 contests. Tyrese Maxey has continued his emergence as a scoring force, leading the Sixers and ranking third in the NBA with his career-best 32.5 points per game. The All-Star guard led the way with 35 points on 13-of-26 shooting as Philadelphia handled the visiting Washington Wizards (121-102) with relative ease on Tuesday night.
