Leeds United have been praised for taking a proactive approach ahead of their recent game against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Daniel Farke went into the Elland Road contest under huge sack pressure, but managed to guide his side to an impressive 3-1 win over the Blues.

Jaka Bijol, Ao Tanaka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were all among the goals for Farke’s side, as they managed to secure their first Premier League victory in five games.

However, there were some unsavoury scenes in the crowd during the contest which would have caught the attention of the authorities.

Ahead of Wednesday night’s game, Leeds warned their supporters that they have a zero-tolerance policy towards any type of discriminatory language.

Former PGMOL boss and ex-Premier League referee Keith Hackett revealed that the police have the necessary equipment to identify the people responsible.

Meanwhile, Hackett praised Leeds for the statement they released ahead of the game, while questioning if Chelsea could be charged as one to watch in the coming weeks.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, he said: “I applaud Leeds United for taking a proactive approach to warn fans about discriminatory chants.

“Police, through their surveillance cameras, can monitor the fans with a large number of cameras inside the stadium.

“It is a pity that a small minority fail to act in a reasonable manner. Let’s see if any charges are brought about by the lawmakers on this occasion. I think that we all recognise how difficult this is to avoid.”

Leeds prepare for Liverpool test

Off the back of their impressive win over Chelsea, Leeds face Liverpool on Saturday as they aim to continue their good form.

Farke’s side are huge underdogs against the Reds, but will hope that the Elland Road faithful can help them to another shock result.

Leeds may be without Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha against Arne Slot’s side, with both nursing knocks from Wednesday night’s game.

It remains to be seen whether either will be fit enough to start at the weekend, with the home crowd set to make it another evening to remember.

Let’s hope that can be done without any controversy.
