Avdija shines as Wolf and Saraf lift Nets in breakout night for Israeli NBA talent

Israeli basketball fans enjoyed a standout night in the NBA as Deni Avdija powered Portland to a much-needed win in Cleveland, while Danny Wolf and Ben Saraf helped Brooklyn secure back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

Avdija delivered another commanding performance in the Blazers’ 122–110 road win over the Cavaliers, snapping Portland’s three-game skid. The Israeli forward finished with 27 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, controlling the game on both ends and stepping up every time Cleveland threatened a comeback.

After the Cavs cut the deficit to five late in the fourth quarter, Avdija immediately answered with a tough basket and two clutch free throws, part of his incredible 16-of-17 night at the line, to put Portland back in control.

Even as Portland played without several key rotation players, Avdija once again showed the superstar leap he has made this season. His aggressive drives, ability to create offense on his own, and willingness to carry the scoring load have turned him into one of the league’s most improved players, and increasingly, the engine of Portland’s attack.

In Chicago, fellow Israelis Wolf and Saraf contributed to a strong team win as the Nets beat the Bulls 113–103.

Playing near his hometown, Wolf turned in his most complete NBA performance to date with 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, including an early three-pointer that stretched Brooklyn’s lead into double digits. Dozens of family members and friends made the short trip to Chicago to support him, giving the rookie big man an emotional boost on a night that clearly meant something extra.

Saraf added six points, two assists, and two steals in 15 productive minutes off the bench, continuing to carve out a role as a spark plug guard. While Michael Porter Jr. carried most of the scoring load for Brooklyn, the presence and poise of the young Israeli duo helped stabilize the rotation and close out a rare road win.

A defining night for Israeli talent across the NBA

For Israeli fans, it was a night that showcased the growing influence of their players across the league: Avdija driving Portland to victory with star-level authority, Wolf finding his footing and confidence in front of a hometown crowd, and Saraf showing flashes of the creativity and toughness that Brooklyn believes will make him a long-term contributor.

A strong night for the Blazers, a strong night for the Nets, and an even stronger night for Israeli basketball.
