Conor McGregor has cleared a significant legal obstacle as a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him over an alleged incident during the 2023 NBA Finals in Miami has been officially dismissed.

The accuser, who remains “Jane Doe,” filed a notice of “voluntary dismissal with prejudice.” The implications are that the accuser will not be allowed to file the same claim moving forward. The lawsuit was filed last year, following claims Conor assaulted the woman at the Kaseya Center bathrooms during Game 4 of the 2023 NBA Finals. McGregor shut down the allegations, and investigations from the Miami police resulted in no criminal charges. Now, the lawsuit has been dismissed.

This is a step in the right direction based on McGregor’s other legal troubles. He was found liable in a civil sexual lawsuit filed by Nikita Hand, where she accused him of sexual assault in a Dubin hotel room in 2018. Despite maintaining his innoncne, McGregor was ordered to pay her $271,742 in damages and further legal fees. His appeal was rejected, but the latest verdict allows Conor to focus on his fighting career.

The Future

The Irishman seeks his first fight since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. He suffered a broken leg in that loss, while his comeback attempt against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 also failed. Conor pulled out of the fight due to a broken pinky toe sustained in training. However, he is currently training with a view to fighting on the UFC White House card on June 14, 2026. McGregor and Chandler are confident the fight to happen.

“Me and Dana [White] are in constant communication, we’ve done incredible business together. I’m the highest-generating fighter of all time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. They’ve just signed a breathtaking deal with Paramount, where we go to cable TV. $7.7 billion that deal was approved for. I’m ready to rock, baby. Bring in the big dog, the ‘Mac G,” McGregor

“So that fight’s already been called out, been signed, sealed and delivered since June of 2024. “He’s gonna make good on his promise, on his words, on the ink on the contract in June of 2026,” Chandler
