Chelsea are not short of striker options right now, with Enzo Maresca having Liam Delap and Joao Pedro at his disposal.
The Chelsea manager also has Marc Guiu in his squad, while Emanuel Emegha will officially join the club next summer.
In total, that is four centre-forwards who could all be at Stamford Bridge next season. Yet Chelsea are still being linked with other No.9s.
How many goals will Emanuel Emegha score for Chelsea next season?

Delap is starting to lose supporters in the Chelsea fanbase after struggling in the Premier League this term, so they may be open to the arrival of a new striker. However, it would be a bit of a shock if the Blues signed one name in particular.

Serhou Guirassy doesn’t fit Chelsea’s transfer strategy
Chelsea are one club who can sign Serhou Guirassy next summer thanks to a very unique release clause in his contract.
And according to Sport Bild, Guirassy is envisioning a move to either another top European club or Saudi Arabia.
They have also reported that the Guinea international’s release clause is set at around €50m (£43.6m), which is not a lot of money for a club like Chelsea.

However, it would be a surprise if the Blues bit. Being 29 years of age, he is just not the profile of player that the club have been signing since being taken over by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
As well as that, again, Chelsea have bodies in the centre-forward position. They are probably going to have to offload one or two before they can sign someone else to play there.

Serhou Guirassy an option worth considering for Chelsea
Despite having only signed him during the summer, it is not hard to imagine Chelsea selling Delap.
The Englishman is yet to score a goal in the Premier League this season — though he has been injured — and only cost the club around £30m. They could upgrade on him while making a profit.
If that is the route that the Conference League holders want to go down, then yes, Guirassy should be considered. His goal record over the last two seasons has been excellent.
The Dortmund star was lethal in the Champions League last term, scoring 13 goals in 14 appearances.
Serhou Guirassy’s 2024/25 stats Appearances Goals Assists
Bundesliga 30 21 4
Champions League 14 13 5
DFB-Pokal 1 0 0
Club World Cup 5 4 0
Total 50 38 9
It is still early days for Delap, though, while Emegha has not even kicked a ball for Chelsea yet. Really, Chelsea need to give these players a bit of time to develop and an opportunity to make an impact before buying a new centre-forward.
Delap and Emegha are promising forwards with a lot of potential. Chelsea should not give up on the former yet and block the latter’s pathway with a signing like Guirassy.
But to reiterate, if Chelsea are set on buying a new No.9, then the former Stuttgart man is a name worth looking at.
