**TOM TAYLOR - CHELTENHAM TOWN**
The young Blues forward will want to help his loan club prevent a cup shock as they host sixth-tier Buxton on Saturday.
The Blues, of course, beat Buxton 4-0 in this competition in 2022. They currently play in the National League North.
Taylor has former Town defender **James Wilson** as a team-mate at Whaddon Road.

**STEVEN TURNER - WEALDSTONE**
The young Town midfielder will be looking to make his FA Cup debut for the Stones, having joined the National League side on loan last month.
Sam Cox's side will travel to League Two side Grimsby Town, aiming to reach the third round for only the second time in their history.
They also have former Town loanee **Anthony Georgiou** in their ranks.

**IDRIS EL MIZOUNI - LEYTON ORIENT**
The Tunisian midfielder returned to the League One side from Oxford United for a club-record fee in the summer, having previously spent time on loan from Ipswich in 2023/24.
Richie Wellens' side, who also have ex-Blue loanee **Tyreeq Bakinson** in the ranks, will travel to League Two outfit Salford City tonight.
Salford are managed by Karl Robinson and captained by **Luke Garbutt**, who spent time on loan at Town from Everton in 2019/20.

**JAMES NORWOOD - FLEETWOOD TOWN**
The forward joined the League Two side back in the summer after his release from Oldham, having helped the Latics win promotion back to the EFL.
Pete Wild's side host Luton Town, who have Town forward **Ali Al-Hamadi** on loan, but he [**recently suffered his latest injury set-back**](https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/25643353.ipswich-town-loan-watch-ali-al-hamadi-injury-latest/?ref=ed_direct)**.**
Norwood scored 28 goals in 88 games during his time at Portman Road.

**DAVID MCGOLDRICK - BARNSLEY**
The veteran forward signed for the Tykes in the summer after rejecting new terms at Notts County despite an impressive campaign with Magpies, scoring 17 goals as they reached the play-offs in 2024/25.
Conor Hourihane's side, who also have ex-Town loanee **Josh Earl** in the ranks, travel to League One foes Peterborough United. The two sides have already met in the league, with Barnsley winning 1-0 at the Weston Homes Stadium.
McGoldrick scored 45 goals in 159 games during his five-year spell with the Blues.

**DOM BALL - CAMBRIDGE UNITED**
The midfielder joined the U's in the summer following his release from Leyton Orient, returning to the Abbey Stadium, where he spent time on loan from Spurs in 2014/15.
Neil Harris' side also have former Town youngsters **Shane McLoughlin** and **Ben Knight** in their ranks and will travel to League One promotion-chasers Stockport County, who have two ex-Town loanees in **Tayo Edun** and **Callum Connolly**.
Ball made 35 appearances for Town, scoring one goal as he played a supporting role in the back-to-back promotions to the Premier League.

**REKEEM HARPER - BARROW**
The midfielder moved to the League Two side after helping Port Vale winning promotion from the fourth tier last season.
Andy Whing's side travel to 2013 FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic, who are 11th in the third tier, and had to beat National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town on penalties to stay in the competition.
Harper featured just 19 times for the Blues after a disappointing spell in Suffolk.

**FRANK NOUBLE - GATESHEAD**
The former Town forward joined the National League club in March after a spell with fellow fifth-tier outfit Yeovil Town.
The Tynesiders are managed by another former Town striker in Alun Armstrong, who will host League Two leaders Walsall.
Nouble scored five goals in 60 games during his time at Portman Road.

**The other ex-Town players and loanees aiming for the FA Cup third round**
* **Lee Evans** and **Hayden Coulson** are aiming to help League One side Blackpool progress as they host Carlisle United, who play in the fifth-tier, two levels below.
* **Will Norris** could feature for Wycombe Wanderers as they travel to League One rivals Exeter City.
* **Elliott Hewitt** is also on the road with Mansfield Town as they face Accrington Stanley, who have **Conor Grant** in their ranks.
* **Armando Dobra and Janoi Donacien** will look to help Chesterfield take on fellow fourth-tier side Doncaster Rovers at home.
* **Aaron Drinan** will look to fire Swindon Town into the next round as they host higher oppostion in third-tier Bolton Wanderers.
* **Ellis Harrison** and **Luke Thomas** are hoping to progress with League Two outfit Bristol Rovers as they travel to League One opponents Port Vale.
* **Luke Matheson** will be involved in all sixth-tier clash as his Macclesfield team travel to Slough Town, who have never reached the third round before.
