FC Bayern are increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI) in their day-to-day operations. The club has banned the use of ChatGPT and has developed its own AI platform, which is already in use in various departments such as fan services and the legal department. FC Bayern employees are required to use this internal platform for work purposes.
Thomas Ehemann, Head of Digital Fan Experience at FC Bayern: “We have started blocking various AI platforms for our staff, such as ChatGPT. This is intended to make our employees use our own platform. And in addition, it’s all a private cloud. We thought there would be a bit more resistance [to the ban], but that hasn’t been the case. The employees are happy to have a flexible and simple solution”
