The latest Fantasy Premier League injury news ahead of Gameweek 15 - including updates on Declan Rice, William Saliba, Yoane Wissa and more.

Another weekend of Premier League football is fast approaching, and with it another deadline for Fantasy Premier League managers to contend with – and, as usual, there is plenty of injury news for players to keep across.

Declan Rice, William Saliba and Yoane Wissa are among the important FPL players who are out or doubts for a weekend in which managers should be keen to use their transfers: With the Africa Cup of Nations fast approaching, all players will be given five free transfers – the maximum – after Saturday’s deadline, so it’s a good idea to make use of all your available transfers if you want to. To help you make your decisions, we’ve collected all of the latest injury news below.

Arsenal pair among FPL injury worries for Gameweek 15

Declan Rice & William Saliba: Saliba has missed the last two matches with an undisclosed injury, while Rice went off towards the end of the midweek win over Brentford in evident discomfort – and both are now doubts for tomorrow’s lunchtime kick-off against Aston Villa.

Mikel Arteta was, as is typically the case, not especially forthcoming. Saliba, it was said, is “days” away from a return, although we suspect he has some chance of being involved, while Rice will be checked after training on Friday – the midfielder had told Sky Sports News that he was “fine,” however, and we imagine that he’ll play.

Emiliano Martínez: The Aston Villa goalkeeper isn’t as popular of an inclusion as he once was, but a fair few players still put their trust in him – but he missed the thrilling midweek win over Brighton with a back problem and is a doubt for the game against Arsenal. It remains unclear whether or not he will play, but we would suggest that he’s a good player to transfer out for those players with transfers to burn before the top-up.

Mohamed Salah & Conor Bradley: Although not injured, plenty of FPL players will want to know whether Salah might be back in the starting line-up soon – Arne Slot discussed the matter during his pre-match press conference, stating that the Egyptian was “always in my mind to start.” Not much to go on, unfortunately, and as he’s off to AFCON soon it’s probably wise to move on now if you can. Bradley is back from injury for any players looking for defensive changes.

Will Yoane Wissa play for Newcastle this weekend?

Yoane Wissa & Sven Botman: Wissa is a major player in the FPL when he’s fit and healthy, and he’s “getting closer” to a return, according to Newcastle manager Eddie Howe.

The Magpies manager said that Wissa had come through a full-match run-through in midweek and they would “check” how he was feeling after Friday training before making a decision on including him this weekend. It’s worth noting that Wissa was left out of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s AFCON squad due to his fitness. Botman is unavailable this weekend, for anyone considering Newcastle defenders.

Murillo & Chris Wood: Sean Dyche is hopeful that he will be able to welcome centre-back Murillo to the squad this weekend, although the Brazilian remains a doubt for any managers considering his inclusion due to illness - Nottingham Forest are “monitoring him daily”. Wood, whose recovery from a knee injury is taking longer than expected, remains out of action.

Kaoru Mitoma: Listed as a doubt on the FPL app for about a month now, the Japanese winger is getting closer to a long-awaited comeback but Fabian Hürzeler sounded cagey about his chances of playing on Friday, saying that he was “an option” but adding that he may not train on Friday. Hold off a little longer if you were considering bringing him into your squad. Team-mate Stefanos Tzimas is out for some months with a new injury, however.

Destiny Udogie: The Spurs left-back was struggling towards the end of the 2-2 midweek draw with Newcastle and appeared to be injured – but Thomas Frank moved to play down concerns, saying that he was not aware of any significant injury concern with the Italian. Nevertheless, he could very well be rotated out for Djed Spence after a busy week.

Matthijs de Ligt: De Ligt has now missed a match for the first time this season, with a knock keeping him out of Thursday’s game against West Ham - but Ruben Amorim said that “I expect to have him back” to face Wolves on Monday, so owners probably shouldn’t be too worried about the yellow flag next to his name on the FPL app.
