The summer of 2025 was certainly memorable for Louie Copley with regards to his Arsenal career as not only did the midfielder sign his first professional contract with the club but he also travelled with the first-team squad to Asia in pre-season.
Copley may not have featured in any of the matches but it was still useful experience for the youngster, who was recently the extra man against Brighton in the Carabao Cup.
A hard-working player, Copley has established himself as the captain of Arsenal’s U21 team and also regularly wears the armband in the UEFA Youth League.
There was a challenging moment for Copley earlier in the campaign as he was sent off against Olympiacos U19s.
However, he responded a few days later by scoring for the U21s against his former club West Ham.
Copley relishes making runs from deep and he also managed to get on the scoresheet against Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup at Emirates Stadium last season when he was deployed as a right winger tasked with cutting infield.
The 19-year-old will be looking to gain as much experience as possible during the rest of the campaign and will also have hopes of earning his first competitive senior callup at some stage.
Copley could make his final appearance for Arsenal U19s in next week’s game away to Club Brugge. He won’t be able to feature in the UEFA Youth League next season as he will no longer fit the criteria for eligible overage players.
