Everton boss David Moyes has provided an injury update ahead of tomorrow’s game against Nottingham Forest.
Moyes stated that he is ‘not sure’ if defender Michael Keane will be fit enough to feature.
Keane was absent for Tuesday’s 1-0 win at Bournemouth. Indeed, Moyes confirmed that the 32-year-old played through the Newcastle game with the same issue.
Speaking at today’s press conference, Moyes said: “I’m not sure yet if [Keane] is going to be right.
“He’s got a little bit of an injury. He played against Newcastle with injury and, look, he just couldn’t quite make it, so I’m not sure yet if he’s going to make it or not.”
MOYES FACES YET ANOTHER SELECTION HEADACHE AHEAD OF FOREST CLASH
The former England defender has had a superb season at the back for the Blues. Such has been his impact, the absence of Jarrad Branthwaite has been minimised, which speaks volumes of Keane’s form.
Jake O’Brien partnered James Tarkowski in Keane’s absence at Bournemouth, starting in his natural position.
The Irish international put in a standout performance, picking up the Player of the Match award.
Should Keane be available for tomorrow, or indeed for Chelsea next week, it gives Moyes something of a selection headache.
Speaking of which, Tim Iroegbunam will miss tomorrow’s game after picking up his fifth booking of the season mid-week.
The 22-year-old was poor in the defeat to Newcastle, but recovered well for an impressive display at the Vitality.
With Idrissa Gueye still serving a suspension, Moyes will need to rejig his midfield once more.
Forest travel to Merseyside without a number of key players, including Ola Aina, Angus Gunn, Chris Wood, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Taiwo Awoniyi, Dilane Bakwa and Douglas Luiz.
The Visitors have won three of their last four in the league and Sean Dyche will no doubt be up for it upon his return.
We’ve just had a brilliant away win at a ground we never get a result at. Don’t spoil the mood this time, Blues.
