David Moyes has praised the job that former Blues boss Sean Dyche did at the club as he faces his former side this weekend as Nottingham Forest boss.
At the start of the year Dyche departed Everton following a dour 1-0 defeat away at Bournemouth, but prior to this the 54-year-old secured Everton's safety against the Cherries in 2023 and guided the club through difficult circumstances.
Dyche's first full-season in charge had it challenges as Everton were deducted ten points due to a breach with Profit and Sustainability. This was later reduced to six, but the club faced another two-points deduction for another breach with PSR.
Everton ended up surviving comfortably in the end as they finished 15th on 40 points and 14 points clear from the relegation zone.
Under Dyche Everton beat Liverpool for the first time at Goodison since 2010 and reached the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
When speaking to the press Moyes credited the work that Dyche achieved while at Everton.
"From afar, it looked as if he steered the ship, which was in big trouble and was sinking.
"And he did a great job in making sure they stayed in the Premier League. I think he did a brilliant job in what the situation was.
"When you look back I hope we never have to go back to were Sean was had the team and the situation around the club."
Reflecting on his time at the club Dyche admits it was hard but is proud in what he accomplished.
"It was a very hard situation to manage and I was proud of what we all did, not just me but there was so many people involved in making sure that club came through a really messy period, on and off the pitch for many different reasons and navigate a way through it."
